I’ll admit it. I like paranormal books. I’ve read the The Raising is not your typical ghost story. Written mostly in flashback, I became totally engrossed in the lives of the novel’s very flawed characters.

This story is about more than ghosts. Set on a college campus, you read the tale of a murdered sorority girl, supposedly killed by her boyfriend. When Craig goes back to school after the incident, he is a shell of his former self and is constantly tormented by the ghost of his dead girlfriend. But Craig is not the only one who has seen the dead girl…

The writing is beautiful and made me want to read more by Charlaine Harris book. It is worth picking up if you like grown-up ghost stories!

Some more of my other supernatural faves:

Hex Hall Series by Rachel Hawkins

Memory and Dream by Charles De Lint (really anything by De Lint is good!)

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

Sign of Seven Trilogy by Nora Roberts
