Description:

Westmont Public Library is seeking a creative, innovative, and friendly individual with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy to join our Adult Services team as a Librarian. Qualified applicants will enjoy serving a diverse public, be proficient working with a variety of technology, and be organized and efficient. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, and includes nights and weekends.

Primary duties involve working at the adult services desk answering questions, providing readers’ advisory, developing print and online collections, planning and implementing programming for adults, and assisting in the Makery. In addition to departmental responsibilities, staff members have opportunities to participate on committees, advance their professional development, and represent the library at special events.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must also demonstrate initiative, have an understanding and love of technology, and be a team player. An MLS from an ALA accredited library school and at least one year of work experience in a public service environment are required. This position has a generous paid time off package that includes holiday, sick, vacation, and personal time, as well as health insurance and participation in the IMRF pension plan.

Facilities Assistant

Westmont Public Library is seeking a customer service driven individual to join our team as a Facilities Assistant. Applicants should enjoy serving a diverse public, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and working collaboratively with staff and contractors. Primary duties include coordinating the operation of the Library’s building systems, overseeing the appearance and upkeep of the Library grounds, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Benefits include paid time off and a pay range of $23.73 – $35.59 per hour, depending on qualifications and internal pay equity practices.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of one year working experience in janitorial, general maintenance, or related fields.
