Youth Services Librarian
Starting pay is $22.88 DOQ
The Westmont Public library is seeking a creative and innovative team member to join the Youth Services department on a full-time basis. Applicants should enjoy serving a diverse public, be able to work with a variety of technologies, and be passionate about service to teens and children. Primary duties include participating in collection development and working at the youth services desk to provide reference assistance and readers’ advisory. Additionally, this position will participate in planning, presenting, and evaluating programs with an emphasis on serving middle and high school students.
Qualified applicants should have an MLIS degree and knowledge of children’s and teen literature and programming. At least one year of experience in a public service environment and previous experience working with teens is required. This is a 37.5 hour full time position which includes night and weekends. Starting salary is $22.88/hour.
