Youth Services Assistant Librarian
19.5 hours/week. Starting pay is $17.28/hour DOQ
The Westmont Public library is seeking a creative and customer service driven individual to join our team as a Youth Services Assistant Librarian. Applicants should enjoy serving a diverse public, be able to work with a variety of technologies, and be passionate about providing service to children and teens. Primary duties include working at the Youth Services desk to provide reference assistance and readers’ advisory, and participating in collection development. Additionally, this position will participate in planning and presenting programs with an emphasis on serving young children.
Qualified applicants should have an LTA or Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of youth literature and programming. At least one year of experience in a public service environment and previous experience working with youth is preferred. This is a 19.5 hours per week part-time position, which includes nights and weekends. Starting salary is $17.28/hour. This position has a generous paid time off package that includes holiday, sick, vacation and personal days.
