Patron Services Supervisor

Starting pay from $26.36/hour, DOQ and internal pay equity practices.

The Westmont Public Library is seeking an individual with excellent customer service skills and a friendly and empathetic demeanor to lead our Patron Services Department. Qualified applicants will be able stay organized while managing people, projects, and patron expectations. Experience with data collection and evaluation, and working with integrated library systems or the Swan Consortium software is a plus!

Primary duties include overseeing all Patron Services Department workflows and budget; scheduling, training, and evaluating a team of seven Patron Services staff; running reports and data via various computer programs, and troubleshooting problems with circulating Library materials and patron accounts. This position will also work at the Library’s Main desk which is the first point of contact for patrons and where they get help with circulating Library materials.

The successful candidate must also demonstrate initiative, be efficient, value clear communication, and be a team player. At least one year of work experience in a public service environment or library is required. An LTA certificate or equivalent and supervisory experience is preferred. The schedule for this part-time position includes day, night, and weekend hours. This position has a generous paid time off package that includes holiday, sick, vacation, and personal time and participation in the IMRF pension plan.

Patron Services Associate

The Westmont Public Library is seeking a friendly and customer service driven individual to join our team as a Patron Services Associate. Applicants should enjoy serving a diverse public, using a variety of technology, and working collaboratively with staff and patrons. Primary duties include assisting patrons with their accounts, answering questions, circulating materials, and creating library cards.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma. A minimum of one year working experience in a customer driven environment is required. This is a part-time position, 19.5 hours per week, and includes nights and weekends. Starting salary is from $15.61/hour, DOQ. Benefits include paid time off with vacation, personal, and sick time.
