Once upon a time, in a land called New York City, there was a secret community in the village of Brooklyn. This community was called Fabletown, and it was populated by Fables who were banished from their Homelands. They were a magic people, so they stayed hidden. Sheriff Bigby Wolf ensured that the Fables followed the rules to keep them safe from the mundane world. But when someone started killing the Fables, Bigby realized that they might not even be safe from themselves. He set out to find the murderer, trying to find answers within a community that was almost as afraid of the Big Bad Wolf as they were of the killer…

I am really fond of Telltale Games, and this one is one of the best ones. You play as Bigby, making different dialogue choices to move the story along. What you say and do affects the story later, so choose wisely! The gameplay is really easy, and you can get through an episode in a couple hours, so it’s not a huge commitment. It looks like a blend of a comic book and an ‘80s movie, with heavy black lines, stark shading, and a neon color palette. And yet it still somehow manages to look and feel like a detective noir. The mystery has so many twists and turns, it keeps you guessing up until the very end. Highly recommended.
