Settlers of Catan is the newest game at the library. This game takes a few minutes to set up, since the board is made up of hexagonal pieces representing different resources that players can earn and trade, but it is a fast-paced game that takes about 45-60 minutes to play.

The goal of the game is to be the first player to score 10 points. Points are scored in a few ways – the most common are for building towns, cities, and roads. Building a settlements costs resources, such as wood and brick to build roads to travel on and wheat to feed people. These resources are gained each turn and can be traded with the bank or the other players.

What I find unique about this game is that each time you play you can shuffle the board to create a new map to play on, making each game different every time it’s played.
