Westmont Public Library complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is committed to ensuring that our building and services are accessible to everyone in our community. Please see below for a listing of the resources and services we provide in order to achieve this goal.

If you have a specific request or feedback, or encounter any accessibility issues with our building or website, we want to know about it! Please fill out the Accessibility Support Form to request accommodations or let us know if you have a concern. You can also reach us by emailing [email protected], calling the Library at 630 869 6150, or visiting in person.

We ask individuals with disabilities who require accommodation for a scheduled Library program to contact us at least five days in advance.


Library services

  • Adaptive Storytime: This quarterly, inclusive storytime is especially welcoming for children with sensory processing challenges.
  • Curbside pickup: Pick up your items curbside any time during regular Library hours.
  • Home delivery: Westmont cardholders who cannot visit the Library due to illness, injury, or disability may sign up for home delivery.

  • ClearView C desktop video magnifier: 1st floor Computer Lab; Also includes text-to-speech narration
  • Document scanner: 1st floor Computer Lab; Tap “Accessibility” at the bottom left of the start screen to access magnification, narration, and high contrast
  • High contrast keyboards: 1st and 2nd floor Computer Labs
  • Handheld analog and video magnifiers: Check out at Main Desk
  • Narrator screen reader: Launch on any public computers or laptops by pressing Windows key + Ctrl + Enter
  • Sensory support bins: Borrow from the 2nd floor Youth & Teen Desk; Includes noise reducing headphones, sunglasses, and fidgets

Talking Books Library

The Talking Book and Braille Service (TBBS) provides audio and braille library service via mail or digital download to any Illinois resident who is unable to read standard print material due to a permanent or temporary visual or physical disability.
