Teen volunteering

The Westmont Public Library offers volunteer opportunities for teens in grades 6 – 12. A student is considered a teen beginning in the summer before they start 6th grade.

Seasonal volunteering (application required)

This option is for teens interested in volunteering on a regular weekly, biweekly (every two weeks), or monthly basis during a scheduled time. Positions will be available seasonally according to the following schedule:

  • September – December (applications open mid-July and close mid-August)
  • January April (applications open mid-November and close mid-December)
  • May August (applications open mid-March and close mid-April)

Please complete the Teen Volunteering Application to be considered for a position. Applications will be reviewed according to the schedule above, but you may submit one at any time.

Single volunteering sessions

Teens interested in one-time sessions can sign up online for a Teen Volunteer Hour. Tasks may include toy cleaning, craft preparation, program assistance, and general assistance. Sign up individually for each day and time slot that interests you. Registration opens on the 15th of each month for the following month’s opportunities.

Teens can also earn volunteer hours by participating in our Teen Advisory Committee (registration required) or Monthly Teen Book Club.
