Teen volunteering
The Westmont Public Library offers volunteer opportunities for teens in grades 6 – 12. A student is considered a teen beginning in the summer before 6th grade.
Recurring volunteering (application required)
This option is for teens interested in volunteering on a regular basis. After attending a brief orientation, volunteer opportunities will be shared every month and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Tasks may include cleaning, craft preparation, program assistance, and general assistance.
Please complete the Teen Volunteering Application to receive more information about attending a volunteer orientation.
Single volunteering sessions
Teen Volunteer Hour
Teens interested in one-time volunteering sessions can sign up online for a Teen Volunteer Hour. Tasks may include toy cleaning, craft preparation, program assistance, and general assistance. Sign up individually for each shift that interests you. Registration opens on the 15th of each month for the following month’s opportunities.
Teen Advisory Committee
Teens can also earn volunteer hours by participating in our Teen Advisory Committee (registration required), which meets on the last Wednesday of the month. Discuss programs, books, and what you would like to see happen in the Library.
Crafting for a Cause
Earn a service hour by making crafts for a worthy cause. Sign up for each month’s Crafting for a Cause session individually.
Book reviews
Earn up to one hour per month by submitting a book review on any TW (Tween) or YA (Young Adult) book of your choice from our collection.
