A Short guide to a Long Life.  Angus writes that his book is “as pure and direct as it gets – less about theory, research, history, and science and more about the basic practices you can follow in your daily life.” A lot of his suggestions seem like common sense, but it can be helpful to have a reminder to eat fresh, healthy food whenever possible, reduce stress, consider statins, and find time to exercise. The book then takes the reader through things to stay away from such as fad diets, detoxes, juicing and much more.

Find out the rationale for his recommendations in chapters of no more than two pages on average. The final section consists of health checklists for the different decades of life and useful information such as “Top 10 Fish with Mercury Contamination.” This quick read serves as a good reminder of some simple steps to keep in mind for better health.
