Irredeemable and Incorruptible are two very different comics that are written by the same author and take place in the same world. I started reading these two series a few weeks ago and could not stop until I finished every last graphic novel.

Irredeemable is the story of a Superman-like hero, Plutonian, and his journey from being the world’s most beloved hero to becoming the world’s most despised villain. The story is told mostly through the eyes of his ex-teammates, and is full of twist and turns. It provides some interesting insight into the old adage that absolute power corrupts absolutely. (Doctor Who fans, keep and eye on Qubit and his many similarities to David Tennant.)

Incorruptible takes the hero’s journey to an interesting new place as one of Plutonian’s arch nemeses decides that the only way to live in a world with corrupt superheroes is to become a superhero himself. Only, how does a man with no moral sense learn the first thing about being a hero? Complicating the issue, his only sources of help are a drunk police captain, an underage sidekick, and his former nemesis’s ex-girlfriend.
