Classroom materials & outreach requests

Teachers, let the Library help! We can provide materials to support your curriculum, provide tours to students, and come visit your classroom or school event.

Classroom materials requests

We can gather items on a theme or subject, including books, media, and magazines, plus a guide to any relevant digital resources. We can also obtain several copies of a title for book clubs and discussions.

Submit a Materials request (one-week notice required), and our staff will gather related items from our collection for you to pick up from the Library and check out to your card. All Westmont educators may request to borrow library materials for classroom use.

School visits & Library tours

  • School visits: From lunchroom visits to book talks, our librarians are available to visit your school. Let us know what your students are interested in—we’re happy to tailor the visit to meet your needs.
  • School events: Hosting a curriculum night, literacy night, book fair, or science fair? We love connecting with families and students outside the classroom and would be glad to participate in your event.
  • Library tours: Bring your class to the Library for a guided tour and discover everything we have to offer. Students will get an introduction to our collections, resources, services—and maybe even find their next favorite book.

Email us at [email protected] to arrange a visit.

Storytimes for preschools and daycare

Are you interested in a storytime visit from a librarian to your Westmont area preschool or daycare center? These visits can consist of shorter sessions of about 15 minutes, spread among different age groups, or longer sessions of 30 minutes if you would like to group classes together.

Please fill out our Outreach storytime request form, and we will contact you within three days to set up a visit.
