About the Book
Grimms’ Fairy Tales is a collection of folk and fairy tales by the German brothers Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm (1786–1859) Grimm. The “brothers Grimm” wanted to preserve Germany’s heritage through traditional stories. Published in 1812 and 1814, the collection included some of the best-known fairy tales of all time. The stories featuring giants, elves, witches, princesses, and magical beasts have delighted children and adults for generations.
Eleven stories are included in the children’s edition we have selected, including favorites alongside lesser known but equally delightful stories. The book is printed in easy-to-read type and accompanied by original illustrations. In the edition for adults, readers will enjoy classics such as “The Frog Prince” and “Hansel and Gretel” while also finding new favorites.
Youth Reading & Activity Challenge
Pick up a bookmark with four fun reading and activity goals, beginning Saturday, January 13 at A Grimm Celebration: Westmont Reads Kick-Off Party in the youth department. Finish the goals as you read the stories, then turn in the completed bookmark for prizes.
The Westmont Reads Challenge is open to pre-readers, grade schoolers, and teens.
