Step 1

Use SWAN to find the specific item you want. The example below is for the unabridged book on cassette of Janet Evanovich's Hot Six. You are looking at a specific item record when you can see the

call number.

Step 2

Once you have the item you desire on the screen (example), click on the "REQUEST" button at the top right hand side of the page.

Step 3

You will then be taken to a form that asks for your library card information.

1.     Your Name: Enter your first and last name as it appears on your library card.

2.     Barcode: Enter your ENTIRE library bar code number. This number is located underneath your barcode. The barcode can be located on the back or front of your library card. (If your card is expired you can not use this service. Please visit your local library to have your card renewed.)

3.     Enter your PIN: If you don’t have a PIN, you will need to create one. It can be any alpha/numeric combination that you wish. When you enter your PIN the first time, you will be asked to enter it twice. Re-enter the same PIN a second time. This is only for verification, and in the future you will only have to enter the number once. If you forget your PIN please contact the Circulation Desk and ask them to cancel your PIN so that you can create a new one.

4.     Click on the "Submit above information" button.

If you are trying to create a PIN and you get an "Invalid PIN" message, that means that previously you had set up a PIN. You will need to visit the circulation desk to have your PIN cleared.

Step 4

Your Request is now placed. If you wish to confirm that your Request appears on your record, select "START OVER" then go to "Check your record" under “Other Options.”

Call the Circulation Desk to cancel the Request; canceling a Request from home is not possible at this time.

Step 5

Holds automatically go to your Home library.

You will be contacted by your home library when the book comes in.
