Coronavirus Updates

It is the Library’s goal to provide access to the building, services, and collections, even during this challenging time. We are excited to begin a phased reopening of the Library building for our patrons.

Please understand that masks are required at all times in the building, and we ask that you maintain proper social distancing to protect other patrons and staff.

Here are all the details:

View a mobile-friendly version of our reopening phases here.

Phase 1 – Curbside Pickup Service

Started May 18

Request items, get a call or email when they’re ready, then pick them up in the Library parking lot. You can also submit documents for printing, which will then be available for curbside pickup.

Find the latest Curbside Pickup hours and information here.

Returning Items

Book drops are open for returning Library materials.

Per state library guidelines, we’re quarantining items once they are returned to the Library. Due to the quarantine, items will remain on patron accounts for 7 days after they are returned.

No late fees are assessed for items checked out from Westmont Public Library, as of May 18. Due dates for items checked out prior to the Library building’s closure were extended until June 3.

Contacting the Library

Librarians are available for live chat during the Library’s open hours. We’re also checking emails and voicemails regularly.

Phase 2 – Computer Reservations

Started June 22

Westmont residents can call 630 869 6155 to make a one-hour computer appointment. Limited staff help will be available from a social distance.

Masks are required inside the Library building for both staff and patrons.

Curbside pickup, returns via book drop, and quarantining of items continue.

Phase 3 – Library Building Open

Starts July 1

The Library building will be open with modified hours:

  • Monday – Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm
  • Friday & Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm

Study rooms, meeting rooms, and play areas are temporarily unavailable.

Curbside pickup, returns via book drop, and quarantining of items continue.
