Tiny: A Story About Living Small that follows Christopher Smith as he builds a tiny house. In general, a tiny house is a house that is under 200 square feet and is normally built on a trailer so it can be moved from place to place. People build tiny houses for various reasons, but some of the most common are financial independence, ability to move around the country and to live a greener life.
Throughout the documentary you meet multiple people who have built and now live in tiny houses. They all have separate stories, but they make one thing clear, their life has been improved by their change in home. By the end of the film you find yourself saying, “This is awesome, I can do that!” Personally, I don’t think I can ever live in only 200 square feet, but it makes you think about simplifying your life.
Because of the film, I have decided to be more conscious about what I bring into my home and how I stay organized. To do this, I needed help. I was able to find a few books that will help me de-clutter and live a more organized and simple life. I checked out Prefabulous + sustainable: building and customizing an affordable, energy efficient home. Each book is different, but they will all help my overall goal of living with less and being happy with less.
